Holocaust Gas Chambers :: FGP

The gas chambers were horrible. People arriving at these death camps would be told they were taking a shower and would be asked to take off everything and go in the 'shower' with every one else. Select prisoners were forced, for a few months until they themselves were killed, to say things in the other prisoners languages that everything was going to be okay. These same select prisoners had to cut off all the dead people's hair (for stuffing for pillows) and take all their gold (like that was in their teeth) and then cremate them. The gas came in from the bottom up and from the sides to the center so when the select prisoners came in to get the bodies they would find most of the bodies in the center in a pile with the weakest on the bottom, as everyone had clambered to get the last bit of air.

~ In early 1940, the use of hydrogen cyanide produced by Zyklon B was tested on 250 Roma children from Brno at the Buchenwald concentration camp.

~On September 3, 1941, 600 Soviet POWs were gassed with Zyklon B at Auschwitz camp I; this was the first experiment with the gas at Auschwitz.

~Carbon monoxide was also used in large purpose-built gas chambers.

~Some stationary gas chambers could kill 2,500 people at once.

~Rudolf Hoess, Commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp, attested to the use of gas chambers in the Holocaust.

~The gas chambers were dismantled or destroyed when Soviet troops got close, except at Dachau, Sachsenhausen, and Majdanek.

~The gas chamber at Auschwitz I was reconstructed after the war as a memorial, but without a door in its doorway and without the wall that originally separated the gas chamber from a washroom. The door that had been added when the gas chamber was converted into an air raid shelter was left intact.

Note: They were neacked entering the chambers !!!!! (they were foolled thing they was getting a bath / shower)
